I am pleased to announce that “Pan de Muertos” Will be coming out in On SPEC
My story, as often happens, takes place in a magic town in Mexico – Usually, the magic town I base my stories in and on is San Miguel de Allende – It is the place I know best filled with beauty, History, mystery, interesting people, and of course,magic.
However this story was written after a trip to Oaxaca.. in Oaxaca they decorate the Pan de Muertos -bread of death – with little icing faces That smile sweetly out from folds in the shiny,heavily glazed, brown dough.
Pick up a copy of the book and take a big bite-
It will satisfy your sweet tooth, your questing mind and your lonely heart –
It will also help me buy worms for the magpie
-cat food for the cats –
and seed for like dozens and dozens of wild birds in the yard that I raised this summer
